European NTM & Bronchiectasis Workshop
NTM-PD is often misdiagnosed and overlooked. The knowledge about this pathology among European Respiratory Medicine Specialists is limited or completely absent. Despite the increased recognition of this group of microorganisms and the important role they play in chronic, pulmonary infectious disease, there are crucial unanswered questions that remain. The publication of ERS guidelines on adult bronchiectasis in 2017 shows how far we still are from being able to deliver effective treatment in bronchiectasis. The workshop will give the opportunity to discuss and analyze the different diagnostic techniques, the role of new drugs and the optimal management of these two important diseases providing a common evidence-based knowledge background to be developed further by participants in their daily practice.
The workshop has been developed to fullfill the educational and cultural needs of respiratory medicine specialists, researchers and clinicians active in lung infections, with specific focus on Bronchiectasis and Non Tubercoulus Mycobacteria. The CME Activity is open also to Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Radiology Infectious diseases specialists, Microbiologists and microbiologist laboratories technicians. Being a first edition, we can forecast an average of 85% of the participants are expected to come from European Countries, 5% from North America, remaining 10% from Middle East and Asia
