This course will provide a comprehensive overview on the different eosinophilic lung diseases (ELDs). Participants will gain a fundamental understanding of eosinophil biology in health and disease and updates to the management of ELDs. This course offers the latest approach on how to recognise and treat patients with eosinophilia, as well as insights on the advances coming in the new future.
As the culminating event of the three-year EU-funded DRAGON project focusing on SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, the conference will bring together experts to discuss clinical networks, the implementation of diagnosis/prediction models – including artificial intelligence – in acute and long COVID, as well as pandemic preparedness.
This course will provide a solid knowledge base for PhD students and clinical fellows new to the respiratory field. It is also a refresher course for researchers and clinicians already working in the field. As such, the course will provide pre-recorded modules that present a brief recap of essential knowledge that is provided in most Master courses at the University level, deepened with current state-of-the-art knowledge by world experts. During the interactive program days (15-17 May 2023), the audience will be primed by lectures that are aimed to stimulate discussion and will serve as an introduction to a variety of active learning sessions.
The 7th IPCRG Scientific meeting is a two day meeting, based on the reviewed and accepted abstracts in three abstract types: clinical studies (with data), service development and evaluation (with data) or research ideas (including question, background and proposed method). The meeting will be preceded by an opt-in module on coding and analysis as part of a new introductory course in qualitative research, which is part of IPCRG drive to build research capacity in primary care. More specific, from May 14th the Research School Sessions will give to registered students the opportunity to discuss the data they collected, while session mentors will be providing feedback and analysis input.
The purpose of ERS HERMES Examination is to assess the knowledge of candidates in respiratory medicine. As this is a summative assessment, the purpose is to distinguish successful candidates, who prove that their knowledge is up-to-date and matches European standards in respiratory medicine.
Annual meeting of the Societat Catalana de Pneumologia (Catalan pneumology society). This meeting is a two-day event with clinical sessions and rounds with 10 multidisciplinary tables on respiratory core topics. The sessions are moderated by 2-3 chairmen and include two or more speakers.
Attendees will learn the basis of the peer-review process in a specialised respiratory journal, specifically, how manuscript submissions are being processed, assessed, and eventually accepted.
Theoretical-practical course on technology and monitoring in non-invasive ventilation. It is a face-to-face course to improve knowledge in non-invasive ventilation, with the support of an active simulator model in which the concepts that are progressively introduced in the theoretical sessions can be reproduced.
To promote the updating of knowledge about lung cancer, in the light of scientific evidence and the most recent recommendations. The most current, most controversial topics will be discussed, with particular attention to therapeutic and technological innovation, through thematic presentations and case discussions in an interactive way.
The Sleep and Breathing conference is the largest pan-European meeting of its kind and is the only one to offer an integrated approach to the investigation and treatment of sleep disorders. Organised by the ERS and ESRS, the Sleep and Breathing Conference 2023 gives an opportunity to update knowledge and skills and network with other respiratory professionals specialising in the sleep respiratory medicine and science.
The objectives are to bring together the key players in the field of primary prevention of asthma, review the state of the art including basic mechanisms, animal studies, epidemiological studies and ongoing and proposed intervention studies, highlight the areas of uncertainty in the above areas, by peer-led critical discussion, educate and inspire Early Career Members (ECMs) about primary prevention, write and publish a position statement on prevention of asthma.
This course will provide an overview of the field of Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILDs). Participants will learn which diagnostic procedures should be applied based on given clinical circumstances and will receive updates on specific diseases and treatment. Course attendees will have the opportunity to present their cases and discuss them with leading experts.
A workshop to review the content of newly authored Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for use in future examinations. The workshop will include guidance on correct format of MCQs, group discussion on the content.
The key objective of this set of modules is to provide participants with different opinions regarding key issues in the field of respiratory medicine. Discussions between recognised experts will be recorded and made available in video format for the participants. Each module will be based on a specific topic or a case presentation.
