Annual meeting of the Societat Catalana de Pneumologia (Catalan pneumology society). This meeting is a two-day event with clinical sessions and rounds with 9 multidisciplinary tables on respiratory core topics.
To provide up-to-date information on the daily practice of pulmonologists, respiratory scientists and allied health professionals, in order to improve their knowledge-base, and, ultimately, to improve the overall quality of patient care. The information disseminated during the webinar should introduce the basic concepts and established techniques rather than scientific work in progress.
Physicians learn mostly from the cases they have seen in clinical practice and discussed with their colleagues. The authors of the case learning section therefore believe that learning with cases is the best way to master medicine. The cases are presented in an interactive way from symptom to diagnosis including self-evaluation of the participants` knowledge. At the end of each section, references for further reading are displayed.
The Union World Conference on Lung Health is the world’s largest gathering of clinicians and public health workers, health programme managers, policymakers, researchers and advocates working to end the suffering caused by lung diseases, with a focus specifically on the challenges faced by low-and lower-middle income populations.
The conference will provide educational and clinical session in a multidisciplinary setting. Topics will be discussed on the basis of clinical-radiological-pathological presentations of many cases, which will allow to better understand them and relate them to the practice.
This course provides an overview of palliative and supportive care for patients with chronic lung diseases, covering symptom management, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the role of informal caregivers. Participants will gain insights in advance care planning and explore disease-specific best practices to support both living and end-of-life care in lung cancer, ILD, COPD, and neuromuscular diseases.
This two-part programme trains post-specialty and postgraduate healthcare professionals in the science and clinical practice of respiratory sleep medicine. Part one of the programme is delivered online and covers the fundamentals of respiratory sleep medicine at a theoretical level. Part two focuses on practical application, beginning with a three-day onsite course, followed by the development and peer review of an online case portfolio, and concluding with an online session where participants present their cases and participate in discussions with ERS experts.
Reviewing the impact of exacerbations across the different chronic airway diseases and highlight their similarities and differences, addressing and debating the complexity and heterogeneity of exacerbations across chronic airway diseases from both a biological and clinical perspective, analysing and discussing the mutual interactions between comorbidities and exacerbations and how these impact on prevention and treatment, reviewing and discussing current treatment and future perspectives in the context of a personalised medicine
The ERS International Congress is the once-a-year occasion during which world’s respiratory professionals and experts meet in a European city to exchange views and share knowledge.
Promoting knowledge in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine
This course is aimed at qualified medical doctors/pulmonologists with previous experience in performing regular bronchoscopies, who want to further train in diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pulmonology. The course is devoted to hands-on workshops and theoretical teaching of different interventional procedures in accordance with international requirements.
Seminar aiming to bring together experts from different disciplines, both members and non-members of the Advanced COPD Research Network.
Exercise testing is fundamental for the accurate quantification of cardiorespiratory fitness and for identifying mechanisms underlying exercise intolerance and shortness of breath (dyspnoea). Several indices of exercise testing-related physiological response relate independently to major clinical outcomes such as survival and hospital admissions, thus allowing considerable improvement in prognostic stratification. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the physiological basis of exercise testing, to identify the indications and the protocols used in clinical and rehabilitation settings as well as the increased importance of exercise testing in the prognostic setting.
The purpose of ERS HERMES Examination is to assess the knowledge of candidates in respiratory medicine.
This course is aimed at pulmonologists and thoracic surgeons who want to train in diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pulmonology. As a rule, one third of the course is devoted to hands-on workshops and two thirds to the theoretical aspects of bronchoscopy or thoracoscopy. Each course is tutored by four to six internationally recognised experts.
