The XIII International Workshop on Lung Health is an international meeting devoted to the last updates in Respiratory Medicine. The workshop will also cover, as per tradition, a wide range of topics in the field of respiratory medicine, such as respiratory infections, asthma, COPD and related pathologies. Following the request of participants, it will include key insights and updates on rare respiratory diseases like ILD, IPF, RSV, LAM, EGPA, Bronchiectasis and NTM. This course will provide an overview of the field of Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILDs). Participants will learn which diagnostic procedures should be applied based on given clinical circumstances and will receive updates on specific diseases and treatment. This interactive course includes round table discussions from the faculty panel in Mainz, Germany. Course attendees will have the opportunity to present their cases and discuss them with leading experts.

This course will provide a comprehensive overview on the different eosinophilic lung diseases (ELDs). Participants will gain a fundamental understanding of eosinophil biology in health and disease, and updates to the management of ELDs.

Imaging is a vital tool in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary diseases. Techniques such as X-ray, computed tomography (CT), MRI, and ultrasound are used routinely in clinical practice. Today, clinicians are often the first to encounter these images, making it essential to develop a solid foundation in image interpretation. This course is designed to equip clinicians with the skills to assess thoracic imaging and recognise key abnormalities in the lungs, mediastinum, and pleura.

The Pulmonary Hypertension Masterclass will be focused on the early detection, diagnostic strategy (including ECHO and right heart catheterisation practical demonstration, and right heart catheterisation simulation) and therapy in patients with pulmonary hypertension. During Case Forum participants are invited to present case reports.

This course explores the distinct endotypes of severe asthma, focusing on underlying mechanisms, diagnostic tools, and treatment strategies. Participants will gain practical insights into inflammation, environmental factors, biomarkers, and comorbidities to support precision care in clinical practice.

ERS Satellites is part of a new initiative designed to deliver free, cutting-edge education using live-streaming technology, to share knowledge with a high number of respiratory professionals.

The ERS Cough Conference 2026 represents the continuation of the biennial London International Cough Symposium. It will gather clinicians and scientists for a review of the latest clinical and research advances, evolving ideas and new approaches to the management of chronic cough. There will be a review of: the diseases associated with chronic cough; advances in understanding of different types of cough; underlying pathophysiological mechanisms; the management of chronic hypersensitive cough. The conference will consist of: state-of-the-art lectures with oral presentations based on abstract submissions; round table discussions.

The ERS Lung Science Conference (LSC) is a showcase for cutting-edge research and its translation into clinical solutions. Its originality and success are based on facilitating dialogue between young scientists and established investigators. The programme is made of presentations by experts, oral presentation based on abstracts and poster sessions. After each presentation, time is allocated to questions and discussion. Specifically, the Lung Science Conference 2026 is intended to present the latest advances in basic and translational research in the field of lung diseases. Special features for early-career delegates will also be organised, such as a session entitled “How to make yourself visible in the field of respiratory medicine?” and the usual LSC mentorship programme.

The event builds on the core work of the ERS CONNECT CRC to advance the development and implementation of digital endpoints in respiratory research and clinical care, bringing together clinicians, researchers, patients, and policymakers to explore the use of digital technologies and decentralised trial designs in improving clinical outcomes.

The purpose of ERS HERMES Examination is to assess the knowledge of candidates in respiratory medicine. As this is a summative assessment, the purpose is to distinguish successful candidates, who prove that their knowledge is up-to-date and matches European standards in respiratory medicine.

PVRI 2026 is a four day conference with seminars, panel discussions, and poster presentations on all aspects of pulmonary vascular disease. The theme of the meeting is “Embracing Heterogeneity”, and it will explore heterogeneity in disease presentation and pathobiology, and how this heterogeneity may be leveraged to improve outcomes in human clinical trials. Key topics include a review of contemporary pulmonary vascular disease presentation, diagnosis, and treatment in the context of recently updated World Symposium of Pulmonary Hypertension guidelines; recent advances in clinical, imaging, and molecular disease phenotyping; innovations in clinical trial design; and cutting-edge research discoveries in disease pathobiology.

There have been significant advances in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension (PH) over recent years and it is an increasingly diagnosed condition. Respiratory physicians therefore need to have a good understanding of the various forms of PH, the correct diagnostic approach and the available treatments. This course will identify the different processes involved in diagnosing and managing pulmonary hypertension. Diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities will be discussed. Participants will also be provided with an understanding of the pathogenesis of these conditions.
