There have been significant advances in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension (PH) over recent years and it is an increasingly diagnosed condition. Respiratory physicians therefore need to have a good understanding of the various forms of PH, the correct diagnostic approach and the available treatments. This course will identify the different processes involved in diagnosing and managing pulmonary hypertension. Diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities will be discussed. Participants will also be provided with an understanding of the pathogenesis of these conditions.

This online course will provide an overview of the field of interstitial lung diseases (ILDs). Participants will learn which diagnostic procedures should be applied based on given clinical circumstances and will receive updates on specific diseases and treatments. Course attendees will have the opportunity to present their pre-recorded cases and discuss them with leading experts.

The Union World Conference on Lung Health is the world’s largest gathering of clinicians and public health workers, health programme managers, policymakers, researchers and advocates working to end the suffering caused by lung diseases, with a focus specifically on the challenges faced by low-and lower-middle income populations.

This two-part programme trains post-specialty and postgraduate healthcare professionals in the science and clinical practice of respiratory sleep medicine. Part one of the programme is delivered online and covers the fundamentals of respiratory sleep medicine at a theoretical level. Exercise testing is fundamental for the accurate quantification of cardiorespiratory fitness and for identifying mechanisms underlying exercise intolerance and shortness of breath (dyspnoea). Several indices of exercise testing-related physiological response relate independently to major clinical outcomes such as survival and hospital admissions, thus allowing considerable improvement in prognostic stratification. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the physiological basis of exercise testing, to identify the indications and the protocols used in clinical and rehabilitation settings as well as the increased importance of exercise testing in the prognostic setting.
